Caro Maestro,
As the time approaches for you to leave Jena, I should like to make sure of seeing you before you do so. I [!] thinking of leaving there on Monday next. In that case I should reach Jena on Tuesday night (April 27th). I will find a hotel, & trust to call on you on the following day (April 28th ) for a talk. Will you please send me a postcard to say if I may hope to see you on that day, or if you would prefer me to postpone it. || I am coming entirely to see you & Jena. I have never been in Germany before (& have never yet spoken a word of German!), but I am too busy to take a long holiday just now. I expect to be only two days in Jena. I may also say that our Rationalist Press dinner is to be held in a [!] three weeks, & they will expect me to bring a message from Jena.
I hope your health is restored, & shall be much relieved if you will send me a postcard as soon as you conveniently can.
Yours ever faithfully
Joseph McCabe
