Dear Professor Haeckel,
I hear that you have been invited to attend our R.P.A. dinner on May 1st. I hope you will be able to do so. The weather here is generally mild & fine about that time, & our people are most anxious to see you. Your position is very different in England today from what it was even when you last visited the country, & I am sure you || would be greatly gratified to attend our dinner.
I remember that you speak English fluently, but if there are any ways in which I could be of use to you, I shall be most happy to put myself at your disposal during the visit. I greatly hope that your health will allow you to make the journey. I could meet you at Harwich, if you cared, & help to make things convenient for you. With kindest regards
Yours very truly,
Joseph McCabe
