My Dear Haeckel
Today I received here your coloured Photo. It is an excellent example of the art, and the subject makes it interesting to me and my family. I am still very || much enjoying this place. I go out with the gun nearly every day and I am teaching my boy to shoot! There is a recrudescence of all the old hunter and savage thoughts and feelings which seems good for the physiological || activity of the organism.
We are all very well, and I hope Mrs Haeckel and all the members of your family are in the enjoyment of good health and spirits.
Yours sincerely
John Murray.
