My Dear Haeckel

I will be very interested to see what you make of the organism I sent you. I never noticed any polyps. Certainly give us the general remarks.

I think it would be best if Mr Dreyer came here about the || first of March. I will write to him when I wish him to come. In the meantime send me the list for station 225. and if he can prepare any more lists in the meantime let me know what stations he proposes to take, and what he has already done.

Yes! I’ll soon be || a poor married man!! I would like to see you in Italy but I fear we must return sooner than March or April.

With all the good wishes of the New Year to you and all your family.

Yours sincerely

John Murray.

I’ll send you one of || the invitations to our wedding to let Mrs Haeckel see how we do these things here.

J.M.
