Dear Sir, –

I am desired by the Board of Directors of the above Association to solicit, on their behalf, the honour of entertaining you at a dinner to be held at the Westminster Palace Hotel, London, on such evening during your coming visit to this country as may be convenient to you. Several of our members and friends have expressed a strong wish to have the pleasure of meeting you, and no doubt we should have an imposing assembly.

If the proposal should meet with your acceptance, I should be glad to hear whether the last Friday in October (or || the last Monday) would be convenient to you.
