My dear Colleague
I am sorry to say that we are by no means rich in calcareous, or indeed any other sponges in our museum. Such calcareous sponges as we have however I most gladly send you. They consist of only || six species, and I suppose that you will not find anything new among them. I have not specially studies these sponges myself and you will doublets find some of the namig antiquated.
The specimens are all dry and I have not remove || them from the little glass cases in which they are exposed in the museum, supposing that they will travel best as they are; but you will have no difficulty in opening them yourself for examination.
I send all that we have which you see is not much.
I shall be looking || forward with great interest to your work on the Siphonophora and am greatly obliged by your kind offen send it to me.
The little box containing the sponges goes by a parcel-delivery-company through which I have already frequently sent parcels to Germany.
Believe me my dear
Colleque, yours most truly
Geo. J. Allman
