Dear Sir,

Will it be an encroachment on your time, to ask whether you can reply and let me know if you will be in Jena during the week commencing August 9^th? For years I have anticipated this journey || to Germany – finance always repelling. To visit the greatest living scientist, to have a few minutes conversation with him, will certainly be an achievement which, if his courtesy and time permit, must afford me the most unlimited pleasure.
