My Dear Haeckel

We have just had all your plates counted by the printer and we find the following short.

Plate 12 only 749 copies

“ 16 “ 749 “

“ 17 “ 746 “

“ 21 “ 749 “

“ 60 “ 749 “ ||

Plate 61 only 749 copies

“ 69 “ 749 “

“ 77 “ 749 “

“ 80 “ 749 “

All the others are just the number or one or two over.

Can you or Giltsch send us, four more copies of Plate 17. and one more of the others mentioned above. I would like to have || these as soon as possible, as we require to send in a return to the Stationary office.

If you can not now send them we will require to put in proofs or soiled copies which will be awkward.

I hope you are flourishing and that all your family are well. We have || had a long and serere winter here

Yours ever truly

John Murray.
