My Dear Haeckel

I can send you from here, say four boxes, with bottles of different sizes. Do you wish any very large ones or will sizes like what we took to Geonidae do. Would you care to || have one or two strong tins with covers all ready to fix down? If so say what sizes. I think the best way would be to send you a small cask with methylated spirit. This would be better than sending the spirit in the bottles. I can send you a quart bottle of absol. || alcohol. Will I send you some tubes with osmic acid? Let me know if there be anything else. I suppose it will be best to send these boxes on to Colombo in a week or two. I’ll enquire about the best way to send them. To-morrow I’ll see Sir Wyville and will ask him what we will do for you in the || way of introductions for Ceylon. I will write you when I have seen him.

So soon as we get all the plates I’ll send on Giltsches a/e for the printing. (fifth series Radiolaria 41 to 50. And second series Medusae 11 to 20).

Tell Mrs Haeckel I may bring a wife to Germany next year!

Best remembrances to all the family

As ever

John Murray.
