My Dear Haeckel

Thanks for „Sandalion” and your good wishes for the new year. I wish you Mrs Haeckel and all your family all the best wishes for the new year: and may you see many more new years. In three months I'll be over 70 complete years! I am off to || America this month to deliver an appreciation of Alexander Agassiz’ oceanographical work before Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.

If I am quite well in two years time I hope to go around the world for the last time in a ship of my || own. ‒ My oldest boy says he is going in for science, and he may go with me.

With best remembrances

Yours very sincerely

John Murray

P.S. Iʼll read Sandalion on my way across the Atlantic in „Lousitannia” sailing 28th instant. My wife sends best remembrances to you all. J.M.
