POUR L'EXPLORATION DE LA MER
Stockholm le 26 juin 1899.
My dear Haeckel.
Your letter has been forwarded to me here. I wrote to Kükenthal some days ago and will do all I can to send him the Challenger Reports soon. I have been very busy here at this conference for over a week, but we have now ended the whole business and I leave for Denmark tonight. I'll be home in ten days. My wife and family are all very well.
I am very sorry indeed to hear of the illness and sickness in your family, and I am really || much concerned that you should take such a poor view of your own health. I hope you will live long past 70 years. Better spirits for you and I trust to see you very well in Berlin in September. I am going there with my wife and it will be a great pleasure to see you again.
We had great fun here with Hensen and Cleve about plankton questions!! Nansen and his wife were here also.
