My dear Haeckel

Many thanks for your letter. I fear I will not see you till we reach St. Petersburg. The next three days I am to be dredging Plankton &c. in the Christiania Fjord with Petterssen the Swede. Petersen the Dane, Theel, Hjort ^a Miers and I’ll go to Stockholm from Christiania, probably on Saturday.

I wish you were going with us to see the work in the Christiana || Fjord. So does Petterssen but I suppose it is now too late to rearrange your time.
