John Murray an Ernst Haeckel, Edinburgh, 11. August 1892
28 Douglas Crescent,
Edinburgh.
11 August 1892.
Dear Haeckel
We have had a busy ten days with the British Association, but to-day they have all left us, and we go to the west coast this afternoon. When you arrive in Edinburgh come at once to this address and if I be not here to meet you || I will arrive here a few hours after you are here. I will make all arrangements for your reception here.
If you are coming by steamer as I suppose, I will send my clerk to meet you and bring you to 28 Douglas Crescent.
There was not anything very interesting || or new at the meetings here this week.
Poulton of Oxford goes on the Medusa with me to-morrow, and perhaps Baron and Baroness von Richthofen.
Hoping to see you before the end of the month, and with our best remembrances to your son and daughter ||
Yours sincerely
John Murray
