John Murray an Ernst Haeckel, Edinburgh, 10. März 1890
28 Douglas Crescent,
Edinburgh.
10 March 1890.
My Dear Haeckel
I have been laid up since the end of January with influenza and have had three relapses.
The doctors have ordered me to rest and take a change.
There is to be a dinner of the old Challenger Officers in || London on the 26 March and on the 27th we sail from London for Gibraltar, where we will arrive about the 2 April. After a week there we will go to Oran Algers and Malta and probably return home by Germany in May or June.
If you have been || at Oran would you send me a note to Gibraltar, or to Oran Poste restante to let me know where the deposit of radiolarians can best be seen as I would like to visit the deposits.
With best remembrances
Yours sincerely
John Murray ||
We will likely be in Oran about the 12 or 14 April. J. M.
