I have had so much to do here that I do not think I will be able to get to the Continent before the New Year. So do not expect me as I stated in one of my late letters.
One of my assistants || is going away in a telegraph ship for three months, he leaves the end of this month. He will have plenty of opportunity to collect surface things for he will be most of the time in the equatorial regions of the Atlantic.
If you have any special instructions about Radiolaria he will gladly attend to them, || and preserve specimens in any way you think best.
