My Dear Haeckel

Enclosed you will find a list of the things I have sent you to Ceylon. They went from here this week and will go by the Windhover” which should get to Ceylon in about || two months. The bottles are less likely to be broken in a ship like this. All are packed in three boxes and one cask marked „E.H”. I will pay all the charges I can here.

Thomson has written about introductions and you will likely hear || from him when he gets back from the British Association! What address will do for Ceylon? Whenever you have sent us all the Medusae M.S.S. I think we may be able to send you some money for it.

You are too fast about my marriage!! You must explain to Mrs Haeckel that I am only thinking || about it. I have not asked the dear creature yet!! So perhaps she will not have me, and perhaps you may see me all alone next summer

Bon voyage!

Yours ever truly

John Murray.
