On page 10 I have substituted the words „expressed his disapproval in strong terms“ for the quotation from Darwin’s letters. I very much hope you will not object to this: in a Memorial Volume I am anxious not to include anything which may give pain, or which might give a wrong impression of Darwin as a Man. I feel sure, that you will realise why I have ventured to make the alteration.
