Herbert Spencer an Ernst Haeckel, London, 24. Januar 1872

37 Queen’s Gardens,

Bayswater, London. W.

24th January 1872.

Dear Professor Haeckel,

If you have not yet heard you will probably in a day or two hear, from Mr. King respecting the translation of your forthcoming Third Edition. You will, I think, find his proposals satisfactory.

He has written to Professor Michael Foster of Cambridge respecting a translator, & Prof. Foster's letter, which I saw yesterday, shows that he is not unlikely to obtain a fit one.

Has any definite arrangement been || entered into between Brockhaus & your assistant respecting the translation of First Principles?

I am,

Truly yours,

Herbert Spencer
