Professor Ernst Haeckel
Jena.
My dear Professor Haeckel:
I am enclosing herewith a first draft of my article about you and your work. The last part of it is not quite to my satisfaction yet and I shall make some additions and changes. I should esteem it a great favor if you would look it over and make suggestions for corrections or changes. I am anxious to have it correct.
Mr. Varian has now completed several of his pictures and I think they are very good. We shall remain here until the end of the week – Saturday evening – an address being at this hotel. After that an address will be care Morgan, Hayes & Co., || Paris. I should be glad to have you return the article with such corrections as you may deem necessary.
In leaving Germany I shall look back upon my stay in Jena and my visits at your laboratory as the most interesting and pleasing part of the journey. I want to thank you again for your kindness in setting apart some of your busy hours for me
Very sincerely yours
Ray Stannard Baker.
