Edwin Ray Lankester an Ernst Haeckel, Oxford, 12. Februar [1894]

Oxford

Feb. 12th

My dear Haeckel,

Will you give us the great pleasure and do us the great honour of coming to the British Association as the guest of Merton College (of which I am Fellow). I hope that John Murray will be one of the party – as well. ||

As Van Beneden – Hubrecht – Micheal Foster & others. We hope to entertain about 20 guests in the College during the meeting. I think you will find both the freedom of rooms in College and the convivial meals in the College Hall, to your taste.

Sincerely yours

E. Ray Lankester

P.S. There are beautiful gardens to the College & your rooms will look out on to them. You will be quite free but we shall hope you will breakfast, dine & lunch with us everyday when not invited elsewhere.

I should be so glad to see you here.
