Dear Sir: –
We wrote you some time ago for the names of some Universities in Germany, which a client of mine Mrs. J. F. Buerger desires to remember in her will.
The facts of matter are exactly as follows: – Mr. John F. Buerger was educated in the University of Dresden. He came to this Country a great many years ago and has been very successful. During his lifetime he expressed himself a great number of times that he wanted to leave a sum of money to various educational institutions in Germany. He died very suddenly without making a will and now his wife desires to carry out his wishes as near as possible.
Mr. Buerger was born at Meissen and Mrs. Buerger at Orsoy. || What we desire to know is the names of various worthy institutions in the vicinity of those two places so that Mrs. Buerger can intelligently dispose of her matters as she wishes to particularly remember those institutions in the neighborhood of the birthplace of her husband and herself.
We realize that you are an extremely busy man, but we have written the American Consul at Berlin and other parties in Germany, and have their replys but none are satisfactory to Mrs. Buerger. She is really depending on you for the above information and if you could only realize what it means to her, as well as the great good it will do in the line of Education, we think you would cheerfully give us the desired information.
As I already have written, she has set aside $5000.00 for the || University of Jena and while that sum is not available until after her death, you can imagine the good it is going to do at some future time.
