Most revered & dear friend & guide,
The 16th of February of 1910 seemed unnoticed by me, yet was not forgotten; owing to illness I was unable to send you my heartiest greetings as I love to do.
More fortunate this year I come to join all those who are sure to welcome & to celebrate the day of your birth.
My feelings of gratitude || towards you for what you have done for me, and indeed for all humanity, are as keen as ever, & I rejoice whenever I hear your name spoken of with reverence & joy ‒ & this is not seldom.
I do trust you may be in the enjoyment of good health, and able for the arduous work you were undertaking in arranging || your Museum für die Entwickelungslehre in Jena. I have not been in the dear Vaterland for 4 years, but still hope I may one day see Jena & have the pleasure of shaking your hand again.
With every good wish and heartfelt greetings
Yours most sincerely
L. Dora Schmitz
